From executive boardroom pink to elevated everyday denim – how to style a dynamic lifestyle.

I'm so incredibly excited to welcome you to a brand-new feature in this blog! I've been wanting to launch this for a very long time: What I Wore Last Week.
Consider this your ultimate personal stylist lookbook and insider’s peek into the brain of a wardrobe stylist. Over the course of any given week, my lifestyle requires me to wear many different hats. Whether that's editing client closets, hosting them at my studio, or attending fashion and business events.
While most of my week calls for mastering the art of smart casual outfit ideas for women – think elevated denim and high-performance knits – I’m also showing you how to scale that same styling logic up for high-powered executive meetings.
My goal with this series is to pull back the curtain and show you the exact strategy, thought process, and key styling lessons I use to build outfits for real daily life. I want to show you how microscopic details (like the texture of a fabric, the placement of a tuck, or the visual weight of an accessory) can completely transform a look.
An Important Caveat: What you’re about to see is MY personal style. It represents what makes me feel confident, creative, and comfortable. It does not necessarily reflect how I’d style you (unless that’s what you want, LOL)!
The true beauty of personal styling isn't about copying what I wear. Rather, it’s about taking the best of what the fashion world has to offer – the aesthetics, fabrics, textures, and shapes. All while curating a distinct signature style tailored uniquely to your life, your body, and what YOU love.
But, I thought it would be a total blast to share my personal daily formulas with you for inspiration. And yes, I’ve included both exact and similar shopping links if you happen to share my vibe!
Okay, let’s dive into Look 1…
Look 1: The “Plot Twist” Button-Down

The Occasion: Running business errands and heading to a doctor's appointment.
The Ultimate Proof: The best part about this outfit? I actually got stopped on my way to my appointment by someone who just had to compliment the look! It’s the ultimate proof of what happens when you style with intention: you get noticed for all the right reasons. You don’t need loud, flashing colors to make an impact – just thoughtful details that make people take a second look.
Why It Works (The Style Lesson): This outfit is a masterclass in mastering proportions and how to style wide leg denim. Because the lavender check shirt has a modern, cropped cut, it hits closer to the natural waistline. Pairing a cropped top with high-rise denim is the ultimate styling hack. It visually shortens the torso and creates the illusion of incredibly long legs. Leaving the shirt unbuttoned frames the look, keeping it effortless and relaxed for a day on the move.
The Placement & Accessory Details: Notice the shoes! Choosing a pointed-toe navy pump instead of a sneaker completely transforms casual, light-wash denim into a more polished look. The navy pump ties back perfectly to the navy cami underneath, creating a cohesive, sophisticated color story that grounds the playful lavender.
The Big Reveal: But the real magic happens when I turn around. The second shot shows you the ultimate style “plot twist” – this gorgeous, structured ribbon tie-back detail. It proves that casual everyday wear doesn't have to be boring. An unexpected fabric detail or silhouette ensures you look completely styled from every single angle, even on a low-key Tuesday.

Look 2: The “Hustle in Style” Midi

The Occasion: Setting up my exhibitor table for the eWomen Women's Summit. I needed maximum mobility for some light lifting, breathable fabrics for the heat, and a completely wrinkle-resistant look.
The Strategy: When you're the face of your brand, you can't show up to a venue in basic gym clothes – even if you're doing manual labor. The secret to this look is stealth comfort. Every single piece is designed for high performance (breathability, stretch, and movement) but looks incredibly high-fashion and intentional.
Why It Works (The Style Lesson): This outfit plays with texture and silhouette to keep a neutral palette from looking flat.
First, let's talk about my ultimate ventilation hack: layering a black mesh tee over a classic black tube top. It gives you the breezy, lightweight airflow of a tank top while keeping the polished coverage of a short-sleeve shirt.
The Movement Detail: The real star of the show is this graphite skirt by RUTI. While it looks beautifully draped and avant-garde when standing still, it actually opens up into a wide A-line. This means you get 100% of the leg mobility required to bend, lift boxes, and unpack displays without feeling restricted. Bonus: the fabric is completely wrinkle-resistant, making it a dream for travel or long days on your feet.
The Finishing Touch: Grounding a dramatic, structural skirt with a clean, ultra-comfortable white sneaker keeps the look fresh, modern, and realistic for a heavy-activity day.

Look 3: CEO-Level Monochromatic Pink

The Occasion: Attending the eWomen Women's Summit, networking with top-tier executive women, and sitting at the CEO’s table! This day was incredibly special to me because it symbolized my first official day “back in the game” for business following my brief medical leave.
My Strategy: When the dress code requested pink, I knew I wanted to go head-to-toe monochromatic. Soft pink happens to align perfectly with my brand colors, making this the ultimate opportunity to stand out with authority. My goal was a powerful, refined look that stayed true to my signature style, which always includes a distinct, unexpected touch.
Why It Works (The Style Lesson): Successful monochromatic outfit styling is never just about wearing the same color – it’s about varying the textures, weights, and silhouettes so the outfit has depth.
- The Structure: The top is by Lafayette 148, made from a gorgeous tropical wool. I strategically styled it using the crossover double-wrap option. This defines and accentuates my waistline, giving the relaxed tailoring a crisp, sharp architectural structure.
- The Texture: The wide-leg Loveshack Fancy pants balance out the structured top. What makes these pants a subtle showstopper is the ultra-fine silver lurex threading woven throughout. At every turn, they give off the faintest, elegant glint of sparkle. That is my touch of distinction.
The Power of Accessories: Look closely at my accessories. When working with soft, pastel palettes, you risk looking a bit too sweet or juvenile. To inject some necessary executive edge, I brought in texture via snake prints. The python-embossed Sam Edelman pumps and complementary pink python Jimmy Choo top-handle bag immediately ground the outfit in sophistication. I finished the outfit with rose-colored FREYRS sunnies and Mignonne Gavigan statement earrings. The entire look tells a cohesive, unapologetic style story about me from head to toe.

Look 4: Polished & Practical Studio Style

The Occasion: Hosting a new client visiting my studio for the first time to map out her Style Foundation.
The Strategy: When working intimately with a client in-studio, comfort is non-negotiable for me, but so is maintaining a classic, high-end style. I want to look like the expert she hired while having total freedom of movement. The secret here is pairing high-performance, stretchy denim with a luxury knit in a punchy, welcoming color.
Why It Works (The Style Lesson): This look is all about using smart fabric blends and color theory to elevate everyday essentials.
- The Power Knit: The top is a short-sleeve Lafayette 148 mock neck turtlneck in a stunning, vibrant coral. Take note of that fine ribbed detailing – ribbing is an incredible stylist secret because it naturally contours to the body and instantly makes a simple knit look more expensive. In this top, you can see how this premium silk and lyocell blend creates a sleek, fitted silhouette that tastefully highlights my curves. And it remains sharp enough to layer under a blazer (if I step into a super air-conditioned space – brr!).
- The Functional Denim: To complement that rich coral color way, I opted for my high-waisted J Brand skinny jeans in a deep indigo wash. The dark wash instantly dresses up the denim, while the subtle, lived-in fading down the front of the thigh keeps it feeling approachable. They have an incredible amount of stretch, which is an absolute necessity when I’m crouching down to check hemlines or take measurements.
The Finishing Touch (The Accessories): Since the outfit silhouette is pretty simple, the accessories do the heavy lifting to signal timeless style. Instead of a standard round earring, I wore oblong gold hoops. The elongated, architectural shape creates a beautiful vertical line that flatters my jawline and neck without ever getting in the way of a measuring tape.
On my wrist, I wore my classic Chanel Première watch. This timepiece is the ultimate style statement; its iconic octagonal face (inspired by the Place Vendôme in Paris) and signature leather-interwoven gold chain bridge the gap between a high-end watch and a luxury bracelet. It’s a subtle nod to classic, generational style that perfectly anchors the outfit.

Look 5: The “Silken” Denim Illusion

The Occasion: Serving as Regional Director at the FGI Dallas ‘Members on the Move' event at Stanley Korshak, followed by a lovely afternoon of Mediterranean vacation styling, shopping, and lunch with a long-standing client.
The Strategy: When you’re hosting peer industry leaders, creatives, and tastemakers for a fashion panel, you’ve got to show up fashion-forward. But because my day also included and afternoon of retail styling with a client, I needed a summer look that was lightweight, feminine, and hyper-comfortable. The secret here is choosing pieces that masquerade as ultra-luxury summer soirée wear but perform like breezy resort wear.
Why It Works (The Style Lesson): This outfit completely redefines how we think about summer dressing and how to style wide leg denim by focusing on fabric innovation and negative space.
- The Power of Fabric Innovation: The star of this look is certainly the Alice & Olivia pleated “jeans” from their brand new Denim Air capsule. While they look exactly like high-end, luminescent silk trousers on the body, they’re actually made from ultra-lightweight, breathable lyocell. The flat front pleats create a gorgeous, sweeping wide-leg silhouette that transforms into a fluid A-line shape as you walk (plus, they have pockets!).
- Balancing Silhouettes: To anchor the dramatic volume of the pants, I paired them with a crisp white Alice & Olivia linen halter top (also from their recent drop!). The distinctive square neckline frames my collarbone and bust beautifully, while the smocked back keeps the fitted linen forgiving and comfortable for a full day on the move.
The Art of Editing (The Accessories):
When wearing a halter neck, it's incredibly important to practice visual restraint. I intentionally kept my jewelry minimal – opting for classic diamond stud earrings and an Italian charm bracelet (not shown in the pic, sorry!). Skipping a necklace or lengthy chandelier earrings ensures nothing competes with the clean, striking lines of the halter neckline.
To complete the resort-chic vibe, I brought in my fairly new Altuzarra leather-trimmed basket bag for a touch of summer texture. Finally, I capped off the look with a pair of geometric LK Bennett pumps (that I’ve had for about a decade now!). The striking baby blue and pink metallic pattern injects a playful pop of color while providing the perfect heel height to maximize the length of the wide-leg denim.
