This past week, I've shared my top recommendations from Nordstrom's 2024 Anniversary Sale – specifically for Nordy Club's Icon, Ambassador, and Influencer members who all have early access to Nordstrom's biggest sale of the year! It's been so much fun finding the hottest pieces and tracking what's selling out and what's being added to the inventory. As you may imagine, it all moves quickly!
Now you know your girl LOVES to shop, and there were a few pieces that I just couldn't let slide by! 😉 Now, here's the deal…I can't lie…my wardrobe is pretty settled and established. Still, when I see “opportunity” pieces that are either special in some way (design, interesting colorways, and/or great value) or happen to be a piece I need to replace something else, I snag it because I know myself – I will surely regret it if I don't. And trust me, I always put them to use!
Navigating Nordstrom's anniversary sale was no exception. I certainly had my eye on some pieces I recommended to you in my recent blog posts (surprise, surprise!), and I discovered some in-store, too! So here's a sneak peek at what I scored and how I plan on styling them!
My Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale Purchases
What I Scored: Good American Belted Crop Denim Jacket

This super cute denim jacket caught my eye because of its trench coat vibe (I'm a serious trench coat gal!). I'm in love with the wide-spread lapel, belted trim, sleeve straps, and vent at the back. I'm also digging the light wash – my other denim jackets are medium- or dark-wash, so this will be something new and different. I also really like how the sleeves seem extended on the model – I hope the jacket will fit that way on me once it arrives! And it's made of cotton (including recycled cotton)!) and a tiny bit of elastane to give it just the slightest bit of comfy stretch. Nordstrom's anniversary sale really came through on this cool style!
How I'll Style It
I immediately envisioned this cropped jacket over a super cute Anine Bing silk slip dress I have that's a similar color to the jacket's threading, along with my uber-comfy Sam Edelman soft leather kicks. Another alternative is to pair the jacket back with a long maxi skirt. I have a gorgeous Lafayette 148 knit maxi that would be a true moment with this jacket!
What I Scored: Steve Madden Lezley Kitten Heel Slingback Pump

This slingback shoe from Nordstrom's anniversary sale stopped me in my tracks – it's right up my alley because it's a fun blend of classic and edgy styles (my absolute faves!). The metal buckle detail is everything – it gives that little bit of attitude and sass! You know I love a pointed toe. Also, the color is deep-blooded red, which perfectly aligns with my color palette. With this color, I truly see this as a fall shoe, and the fact that it's patent leather makes it perfect for that season. And I'll say this about a slingback/kitten heel combo… it's always a modern, classic silhouette that never looks dowdy.
How I'll Style It
I LOVE a slingback kitten heel paired with cropped pants or jeans. It gives you the opportunity to show some ankle while showing off the shoe! Alternatively, I like the idea of styling it with a pair of trouser pants – there's nothing like the shoe having a peek-a-boo moment with every stride you take! I have several options I can play with across both pant styles, so this will prove to be a very versatile shoe for me!
What I Scored: BDG Urban Outfitters Asymmetric Open Stitch Sweater

What can I say? I'm obsessed with soft, fuzzy textures so this sweater was right up my alley. I bought this because sometimes I'd like a super light layer to put over a tube bra, bralette, or a lightweight cami. Another thing that I love about this top is the transparency factor which is all due to its open stitch design coupled with an asymmetric hem. I feel it gives it a somewhat sexy, edgy look!
How I'll Style It
I have some killer ‘half-legging/half-leather' leggings (they're hard to describe!) that would pair beautifully with this sweater and my edgy Christian Louboutin studded sandals. I also have a pewter Ted Baker pleated skirt that would have an interesting texture contrast with the sweater, paired with combat boots. Chunky silver-toned rings would be a nice accent on this look, too!
What I Scored: Avec Les Filles Patchwork Wide Leg Jeans (or maybe Rails Getty Patchwork High Waist Jeans?)
I shared these similarly styled jeans in Nordstrom's anniversary sale blog posts earlier this week. While they're similar (both high-rise and have a full leg), they're also slightly different. I started off with the Avec Les Filles Patchwork Jeans. I like the high contrast between the lighter and darker washes and think it'd look particularly striking from afar. I'm a sucker for a good trouser fit and this jean is nothing like anything I own (remember: opportunity!). So that's currently on order.
As I wrote this blog post, I decided to revisit another similar pair I considered: the Rails Getty Patchwork Jeans. After reviewing it again, I'm deeply drawn to the contrast between the medium and dark washes. And I especially LOVE the frayed seams that highlight the paneled patchwork look. I also think that the different washes on back patch pockets are a fun detail. Overall the Rails jeans feel more artisan-like to me. It reads more “off-duty,” so to speak, and I'm feeling that right now.
Anyway, I ordered that one, too, so I could compare the looks. I'll compare/contrast them once they arrive to see which is more my vibe. (I already have a feeling that I know how this is going to end, LOL!).
How I'll Style It
My beautiful Lafayette 148 Nappa Lambskin Leather Blazer immediately comes to mind to pair on top of either jeans. This blazer completely brings in the “rich” factor and will be a divine pairing. Depending on the thickness of the denim jeans, I'd love to wear my Banana Republic dark wash belted denim dress over the jeans. I'd wear it open or closed, depending on how it falls. This has the potential to be a super cute look! I also have a couple of navy blue silk & silk charmeuse button-ups that would look lovely here, too! I'd likely pull in some red, pink, or yellow up top as an option – I've got to noodle on what I have a bit further, but know that I'll come up with something! And finally, either pair of jeans will be finished with my lovely Courageous Caramel Ally pumps.
What I Scored: Kurt Geiger Mini Kensington Rhinestone Shoulder Bag

When it comes to accessories, I cannot resist an occasional moment of shine, sparkle, or bling! 😍 I shared this mini handbag in my recommendations earlier this week, and when I attended the Nordstrom preview in person and saw the bag, it was a wrap for me! I knew immediately I had to have it. The rhinestone rainbow style is too cute and would complement many pieces I have. And I like the flexibility of wearing it cross-body or on my shoulder. The matte gold metal strap is sturdy and looks pretty against the bag's rhinestone finish. If you follow me on Instagram, you'll see my quick highlights on the bag!
How I'll Style It
Oh, the possibilities! For me, the Kensington bag can be styled “up” or “down” depending on the occasion (or my mood!). For the summer, I love the idea of rocking this back with a graphic tee, denim shorts, cool sunnies, and cute pumps or comfy kicks. This bag would also go well with my lovely Banana Republic light pink trench layered over a soft white v-neck mesh tank top, wide-leg medium-wash jeans, and pink & grey snakeskin Sam Edelman pumps.
What I Scored: VINCE Raglan Sleeve Cashmere Sweater

Okay, this piece rounds out my wins from Nordstrom's Anniversary sale! I retired my beloved black cropped sweater from BCBG two fall seasons ago. It was good while it lasted, but in the end had some serious pilling issues (gosh, I loved wearing it in its prime days!). Since then, I've been passively looking for a quality cashmere black sweater with just the right look and feel for me. Well, I spotted it at the Galleria Dallas Nordstrom and was impressed with it from the moment I touched it. I like the slightly long sleeve length against the length of the bodice – it's a nice balance. The cashmere is super soft (not a surprise since it's VINCE), and I love the casual vibe of the raglan sleeve style.
How I'll Style It
I'd love to wear this over high-waist jeans, trousers, or a pencil skirt and wear a skinny or medium belt over the sweater at my natural waist—I think that would add such a nice touch and deliver a beautiful silhouette. For occasion wear, there's a divine metallic flat sequin pencil skirt (that's coming out this fall from Lafayette 148, and I'm already obsessed with it), and it would be a great pairing with this cashmere sweater.
