If you love well-designed clothing and accessories, and ethical shopping is important to you, I have great news — it’s possible, and easy, to shop and support a great cause at the same time!
Although there was a time when socially-conscious fashion was hard to find, more brands are popping up with ethical clothing and accessory lines.
You Don’t Have to Choose Between Looking Good & Feeling Good
Fortunately, you don’t have to choose between feeling good and looking good…you can have both!
It’s getting easier to spend your money on brands that give back and help make the world a better place. As an animal lover, I feel good about supporting clothing lines that give back to animals in need.
Whether it’s a local shelter or raising awareness for an animal nearing extinction, you can use your money for good (and still be stylish!).
I was recently featured on ABC 7’s Good Morning Washington for a segment on ethical fashion and animal welfare. I had a blast! If you are passionate about animal well-being, I promoted some great lines and products which I’ll talk about below.
I also got to feature a gorgeous pantsuit from Animal Behavior. It was super comfortable and I felt confident and fabulous while wearing it.
7 Ethical Fashion & Accessory Lines
If you are passionate about animals (or simply love beautiful clothes), here are 7 ethical fashion and accessory lines you must check out. (Click the images for purchase info!)
Fetch Eyewear
Fetch Eyewear creates fashionable eyewear with a mission to better the lives of shelter animals. This fantastic online boutique eyewear company donates 100% of their profits to The Pixie Project. They have a lifetime warranty, and they let you take home several frames at a time, pick the winner, and return the rest. How cool is that?
Chamilia (a Swarovski Company)
Chamilia, a jewelry line that’s part of the Swarovski group, designed an adorable charm bracelet called Give Love. $4 from each purchase is donated to The Humane Society International to help all animals from all over the world in need. This sweet charm can be worn with any one of their beautiful bracelets or necklaces.
Toms Shoes
Not only does Toms Shoes have an inspiring One for One program — for every pair of shoes purchased, a pair is donated to someone in need — they also offer limited edition designs for various causes. Most currently, their classic vegan slip on stars cute pandas. These adorable shoes support WildAid in its conservation programs dedicated to the giant panda.
Urban Expressions
Urban Expressions was founded by two conscious entrepreneurs who wanted to revolutionize the industry with chic animal-friendly handbags. The teal blue clutch I featured in the TV segment is a fun, and bright accessory for the summer — and it’s created with certified vegan leather. Shop their full line for everything from wallets to backpacks on Amazon!
Stella McCartney
The gorgeous black handbag I featured is from the Stella McCartney fashion line. Acknowledged for her outspoken animal and environmental activism, Stella McCartney’s fashion line supports eight animal rescue and welfare organizations. The line also supports animal rights by using cruelty-free vegan materials for manufacturing — this is what the luxury brand is known for. Check out this gorgeous tote available at Nordstrom!
Animal Hearted
If you’re looking to be more outspoken about your passion for animals, Animal Hearted might be for you! Their line of t-shirts and hats are obvious — they love animals, and everyone will know you do too. The clothing line supports eight different charities through the sale of their dog, cat, and horse-loving apparel.
Animal Behavior
If you fell in love with the jumpsuit I was wearing you can have one too. Animal Behavior designed this elegant piece to bring about awareness to the near-extinct Amur Leopard. This exquisite animal is considered one of the rarest cats with only 40 known remaining in the wild. 5% of sales from the Panthera Jumpsuit is donated to help with conservation of the endangered Amur Leopard.
Shop With a Conscience & Still Look Great
These fashion designers are just a few among hundreds making a change in the fashion world — proving it’s possible to be fashionable and ethical. You can shop with a conscience and still look great!
And how adorable was that puppy?!
If you’re looking to add a lovable furry friend to your family, please consider adoption. There are millions of amazing cats and dogs waiting for incredible animal lovers like you to love them.
If you’d like to adopt, donate or volunteer, the Humane Rescue Alliance helps thousands of animals in need each year.
