Calling all fashion enthusiasts,

As the season shifts and the anticipation for the cooler months grows, we are thrilled to present a unique experience that marries literature and high fashion. Join us in celebrating art, literature, and everlasting elegance.

When and Where?

Mark your calendars for October 11th through October 18th for our exclusive Fall/Winter fashion trunk show in Dallas, TX. This isn’t just any show; we’re unveiling Lafayette 148’s “In the Library of Women” collection for Fall 2023. This is a nod to the impactful legacy of female literary figures and the architectural gem of Brooklyn Library.

We invite you to schedule your private viewing appointment on the calendar below (please note that location details will be provided upon RSVP). And then please read on for more insights into this season’s beautiful collection!

Artistry Behind the Collection

Emily Smith, the talented Creative Director of Lafayette 148, has artistically blended the captivating world of literature with fashion. Every piece mirrors the architectural beauty of the Brooklyn Library, its literary jewels, and the soft autumnal hues illuminating its spaces. This journey introduces us to the emblematic Brooklyn Public Library. The library, with its vast resources and unique architecture, serves as the muse for this collection, highlighting the art of bookbinding and meticulous page assembly. In essence, the art of stitching becomes emblematic, representing the unmatched craftsmanship of Lafayette 148.

This season uses luxurious materials like organza silk and bouclé woolen yarns to create elegant yet comfortable pieces. The aesthetics of books—be it the stitches binding them or the vintage patinas—shine through in the collection. Silhouettes reminiscent of pages turning, combined with tributes to American literary icons from Louisa May Alcott to Joan Didion, offer a fresh twist on classic Ivy League styles.

Details That Dazzle

This collection beckons you to admire the details, from hand-stitched pick stitching and knit techniques reminiscent of bookbinding to original in-house artwork crafted in Italy. The bespoke jackets with handcrafted touches showcase the brand’s dedication to fine craftsmanship.

A highlight of Lafayette 148 is their unwavering commitment to women, both in their ethos and craftsmanship. They’ve stood as a beacon for impeccable quality, overseeing every step from design to manufacturing. Their collaboration with top-tier Italian mills and a comprehensive range of 58 sizes (yes, 58 sizes!!) over 27 years is a testament to their dedication.

Fashion with a Conscience

One of my favorite aspects about this Lafayette 148 is that sustainability isn’t just a buzzword for them. With a 25-year legacy of promoting responsible stewardship, their dedication to ethical sourcing, traceable materials, and green practices only grows stronger. The brand strives to minimize its carbon footprint without compromising the quality of its offerings, ensuring that fashion and responsibility go hand in hand.

For all who cherish literature, artistry, and sustainability, we at RCPS are eager to present this unparalleled collection. Confirm your attendance by clicking here or contact us at 214-817-2402. Feel free to introduce a friend to this journey as well!
