Today I visited the beautiful Getty Villa in Pacific Palisades for the first time and it was absolutely lovely! The villa is a museum that features antiquities from ancient Greece & Rome and is spread out over gorgeous grounds. The weather was perfect which made for great outdoor views of the ocean on one side of the villa and the Santa Monica mountains on the other side. The villa has many sculptures, busts, and vases on display that tell stories of everyday life in the ancient era but it also highlights familiar tales from Greek & Roman mythology. This was a treat for me as I’ve always been a fan of classical Panhellenic mythology – I was certainly getting my geek-on! 😉
Anyhow, during my visit, the villa had a special surprise in store for me…
