My travels around the U.S. and abroad remind me how styles vary from region to region due to weather, local culture, and of course, lifestyle! Regardless of these factors though, I going to share a series of six main archetypes for women’s style. Most women naturally gravitate toward a certain type of style even if we don’t know how to typify it! Over a few blog posts, I’ll share these archetypes with you (don't worry, I've got links to the other archetypes below). Use these gems as one step closer to defining your Personal Style! Let's kick things off by exploring the Classic Style Archetype.
What's Classic Style?
Classic is just that – classic! This archetype represents timeless, sophisticated looks that never lose style. These looks are usually defined by clean, structured lines, solid colors and sometimes patterns, too! When thinking about this style type, icons that immediately come to mind are Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Jane Birkin, and Jackie O. Current icons include Kerry Washington’s character on Scandal, Olivia Pope, and Jennifer Aniston. Some top designers/fashion houses known for their classic looks include Chanel, Oscar de La Renta, and Burberry.
I created this mood board of images that reflect this popular style. Does this represent your Personal Style?
