Bright, warm day in Pacific Palisades, CA?  Check!     Stylish hats & outfits?  Check!

Benefiting charity? Check!     Handsome polo players?  Check, check, check!

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to attend an exclusive charity fundraising event, Polo at the Park, held at the Will Rogers State Park in Pacific Palisades.  This was the 8th installment for this annual fundraiser and proceeds from the donations benefited Safety Harbor Kids, a nonprofit that provides aid to orphans, foster, and homeless children in the Greater LA region. What a great cause!  The turnout was awesome and so were the food, drinks, and music! There was also an appearance by none other than Caitlyn Jenner!  I saw a couple of other celebrities that I recognized by face, but for the life of me I couldn't remember how I knew them – it usually comes to me a few days or weeks after the fact!  Anyhow, the event was a lot of fun and a nice amount of money was raised through ticket sales and a live/silent auctions – great day all around!

The event was organized by the British-American Business Council (surprise, surprise – it's polo, right?) and the dress code was white.  As with most British sports involving horses (like the classic horse racing at Ascot), the most anticipated aspect of this event was centered around the ladies' hats and I was particularly excited to see what they'd wear.

In my opinion, most people played it safe in terms of style in comparison with our Brit friends across the pond who own the hat game!  Overall though, there were some very nice hats & outfits all around and the style very much resonated with easy California living.  Many ladies went with soft layers pairing tanks with skirts or stylish flowy pants, bohemian-style dresses, flattering contour dresses, and rompers!

While most of the guests wore white/beige/cream outfits with hats to match, I had to be somewhat different and not completely conform – of course! 😉  My unique look was a flirty, flare-shaped white tea dress splashed with a lovely pattern of deep pink & red tulips.  The vivid colors in my dress were brought to life with a vintage-inspired red fascinator hat complete with dainty feathers and gorgeous red sateen sandals to match.  I loved curating this look because I definitely don't get the opportunity to wear something like this every day!  My overall look was a smashing success at the fundraiser and it was so much fun to wear!

Take a peek at the pics below to view my look as well as other stylish hats and outfits at Polo in the Park – enjoy!
